The Boca Chica beach resembles a huge open-air market, as a great number of peddlers are to be found selling tourists a wide array of items. In addition, there are many shops on the main street, which runs parallel to the beach. Thus, you can bargain for paintings and silver jewellery while lying beneath the warm Caribbean sun.

In Santo Domingo-Fuerte San Gil (St Giles Fort):This fort affords fantastic views of a unique setting: the embracing confluence of the river Ozama and the Caribbean Sea. The fort served as a stronghold in the sixteenth century.

Las Damas is the oldest street in the historic district and the oldest thoroughfare in the New World as well.
