 |
The history of Oasis Hotels & Resort, the hotel division of Grupo Globalia, begins in 2000, with the opening of the Orotava Palace and the Palace de Muro under the brand name Globalia Hotels & Resorts.
The year 2003 marks the beginning of internationalisation, with the takeover of the Hotel Savana in Tunisia.
In 2006, the company took a big leap in terms of destinations and number of guestrooms, starting operations in the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Cuba. By the end of the year, it already operated 24 hotels.
In 2007, the brand name changed to Oasis Hotels & Resorts and the company continued developing city and holiday hotels.
In 2008, Oasis strengthened its presence in Cuba by increasing the number of hotels to eight. Also, it signed an agreement with Harlequin Properties for the management of their hotel chain, with properties in Saint Vincent, Barbados, Saint Lucia, and the Dominican Republic. |
